July 14 -18, AMERICAN BARNSTORMERS. Albertus Airport, 1255 E. Airport Road, Freeport. 10 am to 7 pm. During the Stephenson County Fair, enjoy a vintage biplane flight in a 1941 New Standard D-25 or a 1943 PT-17 Boeing Stearman. The New Standard D25 can hold up to four passengers (plus the pilot) and is perfect for a family flying adventure - there is no minimum age for flying. The New Standard is one of only seven still flying in the world. The Boeing Stearman flight is for the adventurous…for 30 minutes the PASSENGER will be flying the plane. The pilot will handle the take-off and landing and leave the flying to the guest. No prior flying experience is necessary to enjoy this adventure. While no acrobatics will be performed, passenger-pilots will be given the opportunity to perform some of the same maneuvers the cadets flew in World War II. Passenger-pilots must be at least 10 years old and weigh 280 pounds or less for the Stearman flight. New Standard Flights: $60 per person; Stearman: $200 per person. (863-899-4322)
